Smooth PDO threads
PDO stands for “Polydioxanone”. Polydioxanone is a synthetic absorbable suture that has been used for over 4 decades in surgery. PDO Smooth threads do not have barbs. When placed properly- the single thread promotes natural collagen production from the body for long-lasting results. PDO threads generally take 4-6 months to biodegradation after insertion and its presence stimulates collagen production during that period. Results from this treatment may take up to 3 weeks or longer to be noticeable and may last up to 12-24 months.

Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements for 1 week prior to appointment Medications and supplements to avoid:
Aspirin, ibuprofen, garlic, vitamin E, gingko biloba, St. John’s wort and omega 3
Avoid alcoholic beverages 24 hours before treatment
Starting Arnica (found in health food stores or Amazon) a couple days prior to procedure can assist with bruising
Please make appointment 2-3 weeks prior to any special events
Pre-procedure:
Topical anesthetic will be used on the treatment area
Treatment area will be cleansed and disinfected
Provider will assess area of concern and select the appropriate threads
Procedure will take 10-15 minutes
Bruising and swelling are normal and expected
The procedure:
Avoid strenuous exercise or anything that increases heart rate for 24 hours
Avoid rubbing or massaging of the treated area
Avoid makeup the first 24 hours after procedure
Avoid heat in treatment area like saunas, IPL lasers or RF treatments for 30 days
Continue oral/topical Arnica
