Upper Eye Blepharoplasty procedure
Upper eye blepharoplasty is a procedure designed to remove excess skin from the upper eyelids. Your skin will gradually lose its elasticity over time, and when paired with the constant pull of gravity, this can cause the skin around the eyes to droop. This procedure can provide a more rejuvenated and youthful look of the eyes. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Conderman to see if you would be a good candidate for this procedure.

Dr. Conderman will discuss pre-procedure preparations during the consultation if you are a good candidate for upper eye blepharoplasty.
Pre-Procedure:
The eyelid procedure usually lasts around two hours. The exact duration depends on the number of eyelids being treated and the alterations needed for the procedure. Local anesthetic will be used for the procedure.
Upper eyelid blepharoplasty is performed with a strategically placed incision along the upper eyelid crease to gain access to the underlying tissue. Dr. Conderman will then precisely remove any excess skin and fat from the area, correcting the droopy look of your eyes.
The Procedure:
The healing process after eyelid lift involves taking time off from work to rest and recover. Patients must be driven home by a friend or family member, since it is not recommended to drive immediately following the procedure.
A minor degree of bruising and swelling will be present around the eyes, but this will fade in time. Cold compresses can be used to aid this process and keeping one’s head elevated is key. Dryness may occur during healing and can be addressed as directed by Dr. Conderman.
After 10 days, the patient can resume normal activities. However, strenuous activities are only recommended after three weeks. Eyeglasses can be worn cautiously, but contact lenses are not advisable for the first two weeks. The patient must also avoid overexposure to the sun during the recovery period.
